Katriya is a research officer. She joined us after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Geography where her dissertation focused on the unintended consequences of state policy and societal norms on refugee integration in Stockholm, Sweden.

Prior to joining the ICS, Katriya interned with SEWA Bharat, the largest trade union for Indian informal sector women, evaluating the impact of unionisation projects and the local effects of providing welfare and rights trainings for women living in Jharkhand, India.

Through her work, Katriya is particularly interested in understanding the influence of social and spatial contexts on realities of diversity and inclusion as well as how research methodology can act as a way to bring communities together and amplify the voices of those so often left out of traditional research.
